PETER HART Windsurfing Coach
Peter is one of the best-known and most influential windsurfers on the planet and was recently elected onto THE WINDSURFING HALL of FAME.
Former British speed and slalom champion he now devotes his time to passing on his considerable knowledge via various media.
There is barely a windsurfer on the planet who hasn’t been helped by his award winning videos, books and magazine articles.
He came to windsurfing while at university in Southampton where he started the first ever university windsurfing club. Having graduated he spent the next 3 years in Switzerland teaching skiing in the winter and windsurfing in the summer. Back home again and following immediate success on the fledgling UK pro circuit, he was invited to join the prestigious Mistral/Carlsberg team. During the next 15 years he was not only crowned British speed and slalom champion but also was the first Brit to score a top ten world ranking.
While competing he also found time to develop the first ever advanced teaching system for the Royal Yachting Association, writing the manuals and making the videos.
Today his main focus is his sell-out world clinic tour – but he also finds time to produce 7000 words a month for Windsurf Magazine.
On the water his main passions are … everything! Wave-sailing remains favourite; he loves surfing – and especially loves paddling to his local pub on his SUP.
Away from the water, in between nurturing and controlling 2 hyperactive kids, he can be heard picking a mean tune on his beloved guitar.
