Roger Tushingham - the company founder – is proud of the firm’s long standing reputation for the reliable supply and support of the quality products we all need to in order to follow our watersport passions. Roger is getting older, but still active in several sports and activities, none of which involve kicking, hitting or throwing a ball around a field.
Paul's varied experiences at Tushingham position him well to oversee many aspects of the business. He has played a key role in the company's growth, with Tushingham a major force boosting SUP from almost zero to a mass-participation sport within a decade. Along with girlfriend Marie he has enjoyed the challenges and diversity of SUP from the earliest days.
Paul only truly feels at home on, or close to the ocean. He’s amongst the UK's fastest stand up paddle racers and he also enjoys windsurfing in stormy conditions.
Helen fell into a career in accountancy after university, training with a South West accountancy firm and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2004. After 7 years there she set up her own accountancy and advisory practice to work more closely within businesses. Via this she carried out some work for Tushingham in 2015, and ended up staying!
In her free time Helen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 2 sons….and paddle boarding when the sun is shining and the water is flat!
James has been in the industry for over a decade, working with some of the UK’s biggest watersports shops and schools. During this time, he has gained a vast amount of product knowledge and expertise.
James is as motivated now about watersports as he was when he first started. His biggest passions are windsurfing and SUPing in waves and he is always on the lookout for new spots. He started windsurfing in 2000 and stand up paddle boarding in 2008.
Christian has many years experience working in sports marketing, a masters in Consumer Psychology and a degree in Marketing. After spending three years marketing some of the UK’s largest running, cycling and triathlon races, Christian joined the Tushingham team in 2016. This has seen him turn his skillset to promoting watersports - a challenge he thoroughly enjoys.
In his spare time, Christian enjoys open water swimming, running and mountain walking. Since joining Tushingham he has bought a longboard and enjoys falling of it at the gorgeous beaches of Cornwall and Devon.
Red Paddle Co UK Brand Manager
Jamie spent quite a few years working as a Windsurf and SUP instructor at some great locations both overseas and in the UK. He has a real passion for watersports and always tries to find time to get out on the water between being a new dad and his role within the team as the Red Paddle Co Brand Manager.
Red Paddle Co Sales Rep
Lucy worked in retail and marketing for 20 years. Having done some kite land-boarding and snowboarding, she discovered stand up paddle boarding in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. She started instructing and selling paddle boards in the north west of England in 2013 and joined Tushingham in 2016 as a representative for the board brand that got her into SUP. Her free time is mostly spent on the water – paddling socially, SUP surfing, racing, exploring and occasionally running to support her paddle fitness.
Red Paddle Co Sales Rep
George has many years’ experience in retail, previously managing a group of outdoor stores in the UK. As a passionate paddler growing up on the coast and completing a Degree in Outdoor Adventure, Leadership and Management, it has allowed him time to get out on the water. George joined the Tushingham team in 2017 to use his retail experience to help represent Red Paddle Co.
In his free time, George enjoys adventure touring on his paddleboard, cycling and exploring the mountains.
Red Paddle Co Customer Services
Jess has many years of experience in customer service, working in Cornwall to Chicago and all the way to Australia. She discovered stand up paddle boarding and Red Paddle Co when working for one of our SUP schools in Devon. Jess joined the Tushingham team in 2017 as Customer Services for the UK and is keen to help with any queries you might have regarding Red Paddle Co. In her free time, she loves heading out for dips in the sea (not necessarily from falling off SUPs!) relaxing with yoga and painting.
Having spent most of his formative years working overseas for Neilson, on returning to the UK Sam has established himself as one of the busiest people within watersports in the UK.
An Instructor Trainer in both SUP and Windsurfing, Sam also works with NGBs in growing both sports and training various Junior teams. He also travels the UK coaching everything from beginners to experts whilst staying competitive himself in SUP racing and the emerging sport of Wind Foiling, Sam also heads up Severne Sails in the UK.

Jaz is a huge watersports enthusiast who has a passion for creative marketing. In her free time Jaz loves to fill her days with outdoor related activities such as surfing and SUP adventures. She was drawn to the world of marketing through her involvement in her farther's businesses growing up, allowing her to develop her skills from an early age.
Starboard & Severne Customer Services
Julie gained her M.A.A.T in 2008 and has been employed in many different types of industry from motor sport to water sport, razor blades to fresh desserts which has broadened her business and financial skills. She is really excited at now working with the Tushingham team and building new working relationships with their respected clients.
In her spare time she has two German Shorthaired Pointers with whom she loves to walk on the moor, enjoys aqua fit, dressmaking and most other crafts
Ian has been involved in warehouse and storage work since 2004. He joined Tushingham in January 2017. He brings with him a wide range of knowledge due to his previous work and experience working with the MOD stores and various other retail outlets. Living in Dartmouth all his life, he is a keen sportsmen, representing his town at Football, Cricket and Rugby.
Sam has been involved in warehouse work since leaving school.
Joining Tushingham as a warehouse assistant at the beginning of 2014, he has gained a wide knowledge of our products and industry. In 2017 he was promoted to Warehouse Manager and is keen to get stuck into his new role.
Living in Dartmouth all his life, Sam attends the Gym regularly and is also a keen sportsmen, representing his town at football and playing for a number of basketball teams.
