An Advanced Plus RYA Trainer, Sam ”The Badger” has spent almost a decade with leading holiday company as an instructor, centre manager and instructor trainer.

He’s applying his wealth of skills and experience to coaching all levels of windsurfer, both in the UK and abroad in several Neilson centres.

On the water Sam is a very competent all-round windsurfer, particularly excellent in the freestyle discipline, where he scored a great result at the UK championships in 2010, winning the UK amateur title.

All Sam’s clinic dates and locations can be found on his website, which also offers many free resources to help with various aspects of windsurfing technique.

Continuing on in our series of video interviews from the Starboard 2012 dealer conference Remi Villa head of the race development team talks to Sam Ross about the new ready to race Drake fins which now come as standard on all 2013 iSonics and can also be used in the Starboard Futura’s as an upgrade to increase speed, acceleration and gybe exit speeds.

Get involved in Windsurfing – Sky Sports

I was recently interviewed by Sky Sports News as part of their get involved series with an episode focussing on windsurfing.

Following a recent surge in interest in the sport due to the success of Nick Dempsey in the London 2012 Olympics and the current attention being received due to windsurfing being removed from the Olympics in Rio 2016. Sky Sports have done an episode of looking at getting more people involved in windsurfing.
