Sunrise-Sunset.  Windsurfing for a very good cause!

Windsurfing 4 Cancer Research logoOn Sunday 3rd May Sunrise Sunset 2009 was the first major fundraising event from the new charity, Windsurfing 4 Cancer Research (W4CR). All over the UK  many hundreds of windsurfers, kitesurfers and other water craft took part in a mass session on the water.

The main venue was Hayling Island Seafront where some top windsurfers, like Dave White were on the water literally from "sunrise". While some chose to  sail through the whole day, others thought up interesting new ways of attracting attention and more importantly... sponsorship.

We heard from Gump from Juice Boardsports, who had a fantastic time up at Pugneys Country Park along with the Pugneys Team 15ers. We're not sure if the table and chair on the Starboard GO count as cheating, but will let him off as it's for a good cause! The Starboard Gemini Tandem was used to good effect too and the weather delivered some great conditions for all the sailors.

The W4CR charity would like to see support from as many windsurfers as possible. When windsurfing is part of the fund raising there's no excuse not to get out there and help - while having a great time too! Check out the website!

It's time to start thinking what YOU might do for the charity in 2010!
